Korik
Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII)
Korik obtained his Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate right here at Burlington Airport. Prior to this, he obtained his private, instrument, multi-engine, and commercial certifications from a Part 141 school in Kenosha, as well as a flight school out of Waukegan. Korik is available full time for instruction in our Cessna 172 fleet.

Expert Aircraft Technicians
Behind every safe flight is our dedicated maintenance team. Comprised of multiple certified Airframe and Powerplant mechanics, they are essential in ensuring our entire fleet remains in peak condition. From routine 100-hour inspections to complex engine overhauls and avionics upgrades, this amazing team works tirelessly to uphold the highest safety standards. Their meticulous attention to detail and commitment to technical excellence provide our students and fellow pilots with the peace of mind needed to focus entirely on their aviation goals.
Flight instructor (CFI/CFII) and Ground School Instructor
Gene
Gene has been instructing in the area since 2012 and is available on a part time basis. He holds his Commercial Pilot certificate as well as endorsements for high-performance aircraft and tailwheel aircraft. As a CFII, Gene has over 4,000 hours of total flight time and over 2,800 hours of dual instruction given. He also serves as our ground school instructor, ensuring all students are overprepared for their FAA written exams.

Noah
Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII/MEI)
Noah started his flight journey in 2022 and since has obtained his PPL, IFR, CSEL, CMEL, CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings in North Carolina at a Part 141 program. He has experience in various types of aircraft including Complex, TAA, High Performance, Tailwheel, and Multi engine. Noah aspires to complete his A&P license, ATP rating, and Commercial helicopter license in the future, and is available full time at KBUU. He looks forward to working with you as your new instructor!
Paul
Aero 290 owner and Airport manager
Paul is the owner of Aero 290, and the Manager of Burlington Airport. He is a CFI/CFII/MEI, and holds a Seaplane rating as well as a Tailwheel endorsement. He has his Airline Transport Pilot certificate, and over 6,500 hours of flight time. Additionally, Paul is a certified Airframe & Power Plant Mechanic with an Inspection Authorization, which allows him to perform and oversee all required aircraft maintenance. Paul is here on a daily basis overseeing all operations and making sure you are provided with the best possible experience at Aero 290.
Gwen
FLight Instructor (CFI/CFII)
Gwen is currently a CFI/CFII, and has had a passion for aviation since she was just a kid. She took her very first flight when she was 7 in her Grandpa's Cherokee, and fell in love with flying! After graduating college in 2024, she decided to pursue a career in aviation and started flight school shortly after. She completed her ratings at Waukesha, DuPage, and Spirit of St. Louis airports, and is a member of the SE Wisconsin chapter of Women in Aviation. FUN FACT: Gwen was the 8th person in her family to get their Private Pilot License!
Ashley
Office Manager and Assistant Ground School Instructor
Ashley is Aero 290's Office Manager and also serves as an assistant ground school instructor. She is a private pilot and worked at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport as an FAA Air Traffic Controller for over 16 years until her recent retirement. Ashley has always had a passion for aviation- She grew up in a family full of aviators, flew competitive aerobatics when in college at the University of North Dakota, and is currently attending Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in pursuit of a Master's Degree in Aviation. You will see her at the Aero 290 desk daily- stop in and say hello!
Ken
Flight Instructor (CFI/CFII/MEI)
Ken is certified to instruct in both single and multi-engine aircraft. He is instrument rated and holds endorsements for high-performance, tailwheel, and complex aircraft. Ken is available on a part-time basis for Sport, Private, Commercial, Multi-Engine, and Instrument students as well as for flight reviews and rental checkouts.
